Cassia is pleased to announce the release of 2.0! Our product and engineering team has been working hard to deliver on what our users care about the most. We are excited to share new and improved features and enhancements designed to improve scalability, security and ease of use. This release applies to Cassia’s X1000, E1000 and S2000 gateways as well as Cassia’s IoT Access Controller (AC). Let’s highlight a few of these upgrades:
Cross-site (XSS) scripting protection enhancement
Cross-site scripting (XSS) is a type of injection security attack in which an attacker injects data, such as a malicious script, into content from otherwise trusted content. XSS is one of the most common security vulnerabilities in software today and one of the most dangerous since a user’s sensitive data and credentials are at risk. In release 2.0, Cassia has implemented additional security fixes to the AC server allowing users to manage and effectively secure their AC servers. User will now have cross-site scripting (XSS) protection enhancement to the AC server.
MQTT communication protocol implementation
A second important feature worth mentioning is the implementation of the MQTT communication protocol. Compared to CAPWAP, this implementation involves the entire Cassia solution ecosystem allowing for improved stability and reliability of message transfers. As a result, users can expect a reduction in overhead traffic (size of packets are smaller) and faster firmware upgrades. Also, when using the AC, the implementation of the MQTT communication protocol makes it incredibly easy for users to manage their gateways over the internet. See figure 1.
Pure Scan Mode
Last but not least, Cassia is excited to announce our Pure Scan feature for the E1000 and S2000 gateways. When using Pure Scan mode, scan capability is significantly improved by 20%. This is especially ideal for environments with high background noise and/or situations requiring a large number of sensors. See figure 2 below.
