Cassia Networks demonstrated its long-range Bluetooth Router, the first Bluetooth IoT networking router that converges wall penetrating, long-range Bluetooth (up to 1000 feet) connectivity, over 40 bi-directional device connections, without requiring a change to the Bluetooth device itself. This allows cable and network operators to bridge the gap between Bluetooth sensors and network infrastructure to create and deploy new services rapidly. As a result, capital and operational costs are significantly reduced through efficient use of their networks, while new IoT services – home automation, telemedicine, smart buildings, industrial IoT etc… – are delivered to existing customers.

The audience is comprised of both CableLabs service provider members and exhibiting vendors. Cassia Networks presentation featured a live “in home” demo of a Bluetooth-enabled telemedicine capability.
